Honestly, this question shouldn’t even be asked: why is education important? Hello! It just is. It is like eating food, mandatory. You cannot live without it. Unfortunately, people in some countries think it is more of a want than a need.
It is a manifold process that has the power to shape an individual’s personality and character to great extent. Mahatma Gandhi, Father of India, said, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever”.
No one should be deprived of education, No One. It is not just about going to a classroom, listening to the teacher, completing projects and homework, appearing for exams and scoring good grades. Till the last day of one’s life, one can learn just about anything. It is all about willingness to learn and curiosity.
Bringing about a change to your surroundings and ultimately to the world is the goal. It’s like a fundamental barter system, you learn and you make a change. Stocking up your knowledge is useless. We are here for a reason. We may not know why, but might as well think that there is something around that needs our help, our intelligence. Nelson Mandela, late South African President, said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. Politics, society, educational system itself and economy need quite a bit of work.
Education is the cure for most problems. It helps us deal with difficult situations in life. It is through education that one learns the importance of equality, tolerance, social responsibilities and leadership qualities. It brings out our unique talent and gives us employment. It Makes Us Human.
Like they say, if you give a loaf of bread to a person, he/she will eat for a day; if you teach them how to cook, they can feed themselves till they run out of supplies; but if you teach them to think logically and critically, they will forever excel in fending for themselves, no matter how many difficulties come their way.
There is a reason why we are reading this blog and understanding it. It is because we are blessed with Education.
Never let the learning end!
