Pre-Medical Test, NEET, Was Difficult!

The medical entrance examination, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), was declared as very tough by multiple state board students and their parents on 1st May 2016. They claimed that the questions were asked from STD 11 syllabus, but they were prepared for STD 12 syllabus. NEET was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). NEET Phase 2 2016 will be held on 24th July 2016.

Majority of students found 40% of the question paper difficult and to make matters worse, the use of calculators was prohibited. Some protested that the physics questions raised an alarm during the examination as they were unable to solve them and had no clue of where these were asked from. Experts suggest that a few questions were not from the NCERT books and had no correct options or more than one correct option to choose as an answer. The NEET question paper was of 720 marks, with 180 questions of four marks each.

It is speculated that students and parents alike, have asked the Supreme Court and the Indian president to intervene, but to no remorse. The process of results and admission will continue as scheduled without any delay or changes. The Apex Court made NEET as mandatory for all medical aspirants earlier this year. This fact too was not digested well by many.

With a history of things going astray for the students before, during or after the entrance examinations, what happens in the future is anyone’s guess.

MHT CET will be conducted as scheduled on 5th May 2016.
