5 THINGS TO DO AFTER NEET

NEET is one of the most difficult competitive entrance examinations to crack. Students aspiring to crack an entrance examination for engineering, management or medical stream usually put in a lot of effort to score excellent marks and rank. However, that’s not the end of their work. Real work actually begins post examination.

So, what should students do after their NEET? Noted below are a few interesting things to consider.

  • Analyze your Test: Once your NEET is over, don’t forget to analyze your result and predict your score/rank. You can do it using some expert tools found online. It would be possible to predict the rank only after calculating the estimated score. Using the answer key, your score can be estimated. Your approximate rank would help you to further choose the college and stream you can get admission into.
  • Be Optimistic: After NEET, you might feel stressed and anxious thinking what would happen in case if you score lower than expected? Or if you fail? You have to train your mind to avoid these kinds of questions rising in your mind. Rather, you should start thinking positive and be optimistic about the result. Immediately after NEET, you should have firm belief in your instincts and plan for a brighter and better future. Avoid discussing the paper with others. Just go home and take rest. Relax and enjoy yourself.
  • Have a Backup: Don’t forget to have your backup plan ready. In case if you score low rank, some students may not get admission into the desired college or preferred branch. Thus, you should be strategically and mentally prepared for this kind of a situation. For example, if you have planned to get admission into a particular college, and your marks are not sufficient for admission, you should have a second option ready.

  • Prepare a Checklist of Courses: Post examination, research online thoroughly for the courses in demand. You might be aspiring for engineering, but there are plenty of other courses within the same domain. So, give yourself some much needed time to decide the course you want to enroll into. Likewise, have a backup plan ready; just in case you do not get admission in the desired source, you should not be confused.
  • Look Out for a College: Whether you have appeared for NEET, JEE, CAT or AIPMT, you need to know the top colleges as per your priorities. Not all students may choose the same college as choices depend on a lot of factors. For instance, some students prefer a college close to their city, whereas others want to relocate. While choosing, what students need to bear in mind that there are certain parameters to consider – placement record, reviews, courses offered, faculty strength etc.

Try to follow all these aforementioned points after your NEET. It can help you craft a better future in times to come.
