NEET to be conducted in Kannada language also – Union Health Minister

There’s a good news for NEET 2017 aspirants from Karnataka. In a recent meeting, J P Nadda, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare has assured the state government that Kannada would be included as one of the languages for NEET 2017, which is scheduled to be held on May 7 (tentatively). It was also being suggested that the NEET paper would be conducted in English for students from Karnataka.

Both Karnataka and Odisha Governments has demanded that NEET UG in 2017 should be held in Kannada and Odia language for the benefit of students who had studied in this medium. While Nadda guaranteed considering Kannada as one of the languages for NEET, it is yet to be decided whether Odia will also be considered.

The aspirants who qualify in the NEET exam will be eligible for All-India quota and other quotas under the state governments/Institutes irrespective of the medium in which the exam was taken by the candidate, subject to other eligibility criteria.
