National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2016 is a medical entrance examination for MBBS and BDS. All medical aspirants who wish to apply in private medical colleges will have to clear NEET with excellent marks. NEET is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). NEET Phase 1 2016 was held on 1st May 2016 and NEET Phase 2 2016 will be held on 24th July 2016.

NEET 2016 was surrounded by a lot of drama as the Supreme Court on India in the Writ Petition (C) No(s).261/2016 on 6th MAY 2016 declared that “no examination shall be permitted to be held for admission to MBBS or BDS studies by any private college or association or any private/deemed university”. NEET 2016 received the acceptance of the Indian President, Pranab Mukherjee, on 24th May 2016. NEET 2016 will be applicable for all who wish to graduate as MBBS and BDS. State held entrance exams too survived this year and will be valid for governmental seats only across the medical stream.
