Nationality
One of the important information under NEET 2017 Eligibility Criteria, nationality of the candidate will define whether he/she will be able to appear for the final exam.
- The aspirant must be an Indian national or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
- OCI are eligible for admission in Medical and Dental colleges. However, the admission is subject to rules and regulations framed by the respective State Governments and the Government of India.
NEET: Information at a glance
- Age : A candidate must be of 17 years at the time of admission or must complete the age on or before December 31, 2016.
- Unreserved category age limit : The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on December 31, 2016 .
- Reserved category age limit : The Upper age limit is 30 years for SC / ST / OBC category candidates in NEET 2016. This age limit is after giving relaxation of 5 years.
In simple terms,
NEET 2017 aspirants must be born on or between:
- General Category : Must born in between January 01, 1992 and January 01, 2000.
- SC/ST/OBC Category: Must be born in between January 01, 1987 and January 01, 2000.
Qualifying Marks in 10+2
In order to be able to appear for NEET 2017, a candidate must secure the below listed minimum qualifying marks in Class 12th.

40% | Gen- (PH) | Must have obtained at least 45% marks for General Physically Handicapped category |
